At the January 2026 Board of Directors’ meeting, Joyce Mowrey and Spencer Musselman were elected to take the reins of the Goshen Land Trust as the new president and vice-president.
Joyce’s work background was in education. She was a teacher and then a high school principal before retiring from the CT Technical High School System in 2019. Her second love has always been the outdoors. She has been a Director on the Board since 2006 and has been a Land Trust volunteer since 2002. She loves our trails and is excited about building the two new accessible trails, funded by the CT DEEP Trails grant and the AARP Community Challenge Grant, which should be ready to walk and roll this summer.
Spencer is a Goshen native and, until recently, was Goshen’s Inlands and Wetlands Official. He works now for the Town of Watertown as Town Planner, and he has a passion for preserving wildlife. He has taken on the role of Chair of the Stewardship Committee, responsible for inspecting our owned and conservation easement properties.
